Good News Everybody!

Good News: ABC has renewed 15 shows. Those are – in alphabetical order:

“America’s Funniest Home Videos,” “The Bachelor,” “Black-ish,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “The Goldbergs,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “How to Get Away With Murder,” “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” “Once Upon a Time,” “Scandal,” “Shark Tank” and “Quantico” – all ready to go again for the 2016-2017 on the network owned by Disney.

Now for the bad news – Missing from that list are

“The Muppets,” “Agent Carter,” “Castle,” “Nashville,” “Dr. Ken,” “Last Man Standing,” “Galavant,” and “American Crime.”

These announcements come way ahead of the typical May upfronts mostly in response to the executive shakeup with Paul Lee’s departure and Channing Dungey coming in to take his throne.

“Wayward Pines” – FOX’s M.Night Shyamalan summer event-now series – is getting Terrence Howard (not quite sure how they’re pulling that off) and Djimon Hounsou plus Jason Patric. The second season starts May 25. A tad early to set your DVR.

“Rick and Morty” Season 3 release date is set for the end of 2016, plus 14 episodes.

Ian McShane has been tapped to take the roll of Mr. Wednesday in Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods” for Starz.

And for some reason they’re going to make another season of “Full(er) House” on Netflix. Perhaps it’ll be as good as the second season of “True Detective?” Stephen Colbert’s already on it.
