According to sources from Variety, the former Caped Crusader is in talks to join the new Marvel produced Spider-Man film as a major villain. Of course, neither Marvel nor Sony have confirmed or commented on the speculation, but if true Keaton would add a major dose of credibility to the film.
Keaton might make a perfect Vulture for Tom Holland’s teenage Spidey.
Academy Award winning actors are nothing new to Marvel, as the Birdman would join the Oscar ranks of Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Tommy Lee Jones (Colonel Phillips), Gwyneth Paltrow (Pepper Potts), William Hurt (General Thaddeus Ross), Robert Redford (Alexander Pierce), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Ben Kingsley (Aldrich Killian), Benicio del Toro (The Collector), and Jeff Bridges (Obadiah Stane).
Civil War will be the new MCU Spidey’s first appearance, and by all recent early impressions he steals the show from an already impressive and established cast. Doctor Strange is also looking like Marvel’s Inception. Phase 3 is off to an amazing start.
